LOOKING BACK ON THE 2006
KOMEN SAN ANTONIO RACE
FOR THE CURE

Dear Komen Friends,

Across our community, Komen supporters from all walks of life are preparing to lace up and Race for the Cure¨. The 10th annual Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure¨ will be held at the Alamodome on Saturday, March 31, 2007. Thanks to incredible community support, this highly anticipated event is the largest 5K run/walk in San Antonio. The Race honors those who have courageously survived the battle with breast cancer, those who have tragically lost their lives, and the family and friends who support them.

From humble beginnings in 1998 with 2,400 participants raising $50,000, the Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure¨ has grown to more than 27,000 of our biggest supporters raising more than $1 million in 2006.

For many of us, participating in the Race is a community service, but it is also deeply personal. We all have family and/or friends that have been touched by this indiscriminate disease. In this special section youÕll learn how your support can make a difference right here in San Antonio.

Join the fight and sign up for the 2007 Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure¨. Just register online at www.komensanantonio.org or fill out the enclosed Race form. ItÕs simple and yet so significant. We look forward to seeing you on March 31st!

Yours in the fight,

HELP KOMEN PAINT SAN ANTONIO PINK!

The San Antonio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure¨ is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Since inception in 1997, and with donor support, Komen San Antonio has contributed more than $5 million to fund a variety of local projects that reflect our mission to eradicate breast cancer and provide vital services to the medically underserved of our community.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure¨ began with a promise between two sisters. Established in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, Komen honors the memory her sister Suzy G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, Komen for the Cure is an international organization with 125 affiliates and runs one of the most innovative, responsive grants programs in breast cancer.

With your help, we can continue to serve as a resource for those seeking opportunities for screening and treatment, raise awareness and educate the community about the benefits of early detection in the fight against breast cancer. For more information, please visit our website at www.komensanantonio.org.

Living the promise,

KAREN DIAZ, M.D.
