The San Antonio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure¨ is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Since inception in 1997, and with donor support, Komen San Antonio has contributed more than $5 million to fund a variety of local projects that reflect our mission to eradicate breast cancer and provide vital services to the medically underserved of our community.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure¨ began with a promise between two sisters. Established in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, Komen honors the memory her sister Suzy G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, Komen for the Cure is an international organization with 125 affiliates and runs one of the most innovative, responsive grants programs in breast cancer.
With your help, we can continue to serve as a resource for those seeking opportunities for screening and treatment, raise awareness and educate the community about the benefits of early detection in the fight against breast cancer. Living the promise,
