letter from the editor
by Beverly Purcell-Guerra
Women with high visibility share the pages in the September/October
issue of SAN ANTONIO WOMAN.

Many of us wake up to the crisp professionalism of Leslie Bohl
Jones, our Profile subject, on WOAI’s early morning news show or relax with
her later in the morning on San Antonio Living. She tells us she transitions
from her job as TV host to her role as wife and mother every day at 1:45.
Important in their own right, though perhaps less recognizable to the
public, are the seven women justices who comprise the Texas Fourth Court
of Appeals — the nation’s first all-woman appeals court. In telling their stories,
several recount obstacles overcome on their way to the judge’s bench.

Joining us in this issue are two women who’ve established themselves as
experts in their respective fields. Pat Mozersky, author of two cookbooks and
writer of Chefs’ Secrets in the San Antonio Express-News, will write about
food and recipes. This time, she’s reminiscing about the foods we grew up
with and still love.
