Overcoming obstacles is the theme that surfaces in many of the articles in this issue of SAN ANTONIO WOMAN.

Beginning with our Profile subject, Ana Maria Lecea, we introduce a woman who drew strength from the many difficulties she encountered along life’s path. Arriving with her family from Mexico at the age of 12, she had to overcome cultural and language barriers and even racial prejudice. But she rose above these obstacles, reared two accomplished children and eventually started a company that is today the second-fastest-growing business in San Antonio.
